Merry Christmas Eve

I am safely back in Atlanta now after a lovely visit with my family. We do our big family gathering on Christmas Eve, so last night everyone came over to Katie and Marcus's new house for dinner. They cooked a ton of food: rib roast, ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, salad (that Mom made), pumpkin cheesecake, flan, brownies... yummy! Everyone ate a lot of food (I had 3 desserts!) but there were plenty of leftovers at the end of the night.

I missed Christmas at home last year so this was my first Christmas with Jasmine; she made it so much more fun! Jasmine serenaded us all with Christmas carols, performed some awesome dance moves and doled out lots of hugs. She is such a sweet girl! Katie and Marcus also told her that they were having a baby and she was very excited. Katie said she ran around the house with the sonogram picture saying, "This is my little brother or sister!" LOL!

This year we picked names for gifts and I enjoyed getting to watch everyone open their presents slowly. Uncle Mark got my name and bought me some cool trekking poles and a first aid kit for my backpack. Mom was really excited about her Earth Boxes... she is already planning what to plant in them. Uncle Mark and Aunt Bobbie got lots of Lowe's gift cards to use on finishing their bathroom, and Katie game Marcus a bunch too for some tools he has been wanting.

Jasmine got online to track Santa earlier in the night. She was very excited to see all of the towns he had already visited, but after a few minutes she must have gotten bored and she clicked on another "Santa video." This new one had Santa with a gun! We told her it was a toy and thankfully she was okay with that answer...

Aunt Bobbie brought over some entertainment for us... a DVD of Jeff Dunham, the ventriloquist. We all sat around laughing and talking until it was late and we had to drive home or go to bed. It was a fun Christmas Eve with the family... and next year there will be another baby in the house!
