Yesterday Caroline turned a month old - I can't believe it! She weighed in at 4 pounds, 3 ounces and did an awesome job learning to breastfeed. I had actually stayed the night here to try to catch her awake Sunday night/Monday morning, but she slept all night. Of course last night she was wide awake to celebrate her birthday with her nurse Jenna, who so graciously took photos to document it! She tried to eat several times yesterday and when she was awake she did a pretty good job for a preemie.
Today Caroline weighs 4 pounds, 5 ounces. She is sleeping now so I thought I'd take a minute to blog and sip my hot tea. We are going to try breastfeeding again today whenever she wakes up. She did have 3 Brady's in the last 24 hours but all were either resolved on her own or required minimal help.
On the homefront Tyler received a ton of help yesterday from his Mama and Dennis who stopped by to drop off Fred and some pillows that Susie made for the nursery, as well as to hang up/install the window treatment that Susie made for Caroline's room. To my surprise and delight, they also installed a new garage door opener! This has been broken for some time now and we never could find the time to fix/replace it. It was something that definitely needed to be done before it gets cold/starts snowing so that I wouldn't have to try to get Caroline in and out of the car in the cold. Susie also made a ton of food for the freezer which will be great when we get home from the hospital - there is no cafeteria on Nelson Hill to run down to when we get hungry!
Here are some pics from the last few days:
I only got three pics yesterday that didn't turn out very well. But nurse Jenna got some that I can add to Caroline's baby book later...
Happy Tuesday!

Love, Aunt Lisa
I love your family photos! And in ALL the photos Caroline looks so wide awake. She obviously likes to look all around and check everything out. That means she's really smart!
ReplyDeleteBeauty and brains - what more could a girl ask for?
Meanwhile, did a stylist come to fix your hair for those photos? You look like a million bucks! So does the baby! :-)
ReplyDeleteI second Julie's comment- you all look amazing. Looking forward to the day when you all come home (and Fred is, too, I'll bet!)
